Bing Webmaster Tools

1-) What is it for?

Less popular than Google, Microsoft also offers its own tool: Bing Webmaster Tools. Also free, it can also help SEO website and provide with useful information to webmasters. It allows to get additional crawl information and works as a backlinks analysis tool.

 

2-) create an account

You can open a free Bing Webmaster Tools account by going to the Bing Webmaster Tools. You can register using a Microsoft, Google or Facebook account. You can also create a Microsoft account as part of the Bing Tools for Webmasters registration process.

Once you have a Bing Webmaster Tools account, you can add sites to your account. You can do this by entering the URL of your site in the Add a site entry box and clicking on Add. Then verify your site ownership. There are three methods of verify your site ownership. We suggest you to go with the Meta tag authentication option.

3-) adding the code on WebSelf

Go to your WebSelf site, then on the vertical management bar at the bottom left of the editor, click on the "Settings" tab. Then click on the "Code and tracking"  tab, you will find at the top right the heading "Tools Bing for webmasters".

You must add the code in the box provided for this purpose. Don’t forget to save before leaving.

Return to your Google Console account and click on the "VERYFY" link.

Once your site ownership is validated, your site will appear in the Dashboard of your Bing Webmaster account, and you will be able to fill in your sitemap.xml. A sitemap is used to indicate which pages of the website should be explored by Bing robots.

 

Note: Data is not received immediately; it can take form 24 to 48 hours for the data to start showing in your control panel.
